At Kreate, we specialize in the interior construction of tunnels and rock caverns. We are happy to participate in tunnel excavation, but our main focus lies in the work that begins once the empty rock space is filled with concrete structures, linings, piping, backfill material, and more. All the work that creates the finished and functional tunnel, station, or rock cavern necessary for its intended final function.

Renovation of rock caverns and tunnels
We are specialists in the renovation of existing rock caverns. We undertake large, complex projects as well as smaller, targeted interventions. All construction work is carried out by our own employees, and we collaborate with established partners for technical work such as electrical, control, piping, and pumping.
Among other things, we have renovated:
- Stockholm Exergi district heating tunnels in Farsta , including demolition, chiseling, wire sawing, rock scaling and bolting, shotcreting (carried out by Besab), cast-in-place, concrete structures, installation of new district heating pipes (carried out by IVM), earthworks, installation of steel structures such as stairs, walkways, and railings, as well as electrical work for power and lighting (carried out by Bilfinger IS)
- The Defence Forces’ ammunition depot converted into an underground ski facility, Midsweden 365 in Gällö, Bräcke Municipality, Jämtland. Demolition, rock excavation, rock reinforcement, construction and concrete work, cooling and ventilation (carried out by Francks Kylindustrier AB), and electrical and control systems (carried out by Bilfinger IS)
- Fridhemsplan subway station on the green line, including heavy demolition of existing concrete, brick, and steel structures, rock scaling, rock bolting, core drilling, wire sawing, and concrete work for new elevator shafts.
Rock excavation through blasting
We are specialists in blasting, primarily underground but also above ground. While rock excavation is not our main business, we perform blasting work as part of renovation and interior construction projects, as well as for shaft excavation.
Rock excavation through sawing or splitting
We are experienced in the sawing and splitting of rock and concrete, primarily underground but also above ground. Although we do not focus solely on sawing and splitting, we carry out these operations as part of our renovation and interior construction projects, as well as for shaft excavation.
Rock reinforcement
We carry out rock reinforcement of both existing and new rock cuts, tunnels, and shafts. Our work includes scaling, air blowing, bolting, installation and tensioning of anchors, mesh installation, and shotcreting.
Shotcrete
We apply shotcrete in confined spaces and as a complement to other tasks.
The techniques we use include handheld spraying with both dry and wet methods. We own modern equipment for both techniques and use them for:
- Rock reinforcement in confined and hard-to-reach areas
- Spraying where heavy, industrial equipment is not available
- Supplementary spraying for cosmetic purposes
- Supplementing existing rock reinforcement
- Supplementary spraying against, for example, steel or concrete structures
Underground earthworks
We carry out all types of earthworks in tunnels and rock caverns, using our own personnel and equipment. We install drainage pipes, sewage systems, pressurized systems made of plastic or ductile iron, concrete pipes, backfill against concrete structures, fill within concrete structures, and lay unbound layers – in short, we are experienced and do everything related to earthworks in tunnels and rock caverns.
We own excavators, wheel loaders, rollers, and compaction machines, all modern and adapted for underground work.
We have our own personnel, new machinery suited for underground operations, as well as experienced and trained site and project management.
